Parent Resources

Rockwall ISD Student Services staff facilitate a wide range of programs and activities during and after school designed to address fundamental social, emotional, interpersonal, and physiological barriers in a child’s educational path. To help parents become more informed and engaged, we have provided a menu of topics that provide support for both parents and students.

Confidentiality

The aim of the Rockwall ISD's District Social Worker, LPC and Support Counselor is to help students connect with services available within the school district and in the community.  Confidentiality is essential in providing the individual with an environment in which it is safe to explore feelings and make decisions.  Legal and ethical standards of confidentiality require the counseling staff to report appropriately or refer cases of abuse, certain infractions of the Code of Conduct or criminal activity, and students who are a danger to themselves or others.  The Support Counselor operates under the Texas Family Code 32.004, which allows her to counsel students dealing with those issues listed below without parental consent:

  1. suicide prevention;
  2. chemical addiction or dependency; or
  3. sexual, physical, or emotional abuse
